$24.01 to $26.41 hourly. Actual salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and may include irregular hours when necessary. Performs experienced paraprofessional work assisting with the Human Resources-related activities for the Public Works Department. Work involves assisting the Public Works Department with identifying current and future hiring needs; attending job fairs and other recruiting activities; testing, background investigations, evaluations, and career development coordination; coordinating with the Office of Human Resources to create draft classification descriptions, career ladders, and memos; processing personnel actions for new and existing personnel; and processing disciplinary actions, hearings, and dispositions.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field PLUS two (2) years of Human Resources management experience which includes conducting job interviews and providing administrative assistance in personnel management. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Professional-level experience in Public Works and/or local government is preferred. SAP and SuccessFactors experience is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be able to work irregular hours when necessary. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
