Job Title: Off-shift Maintenance Supervisor

General Description of the Role
Responsible for managing the off-shift day to day packaging, distillery, and warehousing maintenance requirements including the safety, quality, and performance results across the site. Responsible for the direct supervision and development of off-shift maintenance technicians and troubleshooting of packaging, distillery, and warehouse equipment.
Mission/Objectives
The Maintenance Supervisor will manage the off-shift maintenance activities and staff to ensure all aspects of the maintenance operations are completed to produce a quality product while driving continuous improvement in the operation.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained in compliance with all SOP’s to target quality outcomes. Maintain compliance with all GMP, ISO and food safety standards related to the department.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, TTB, and all other regulatory requirements.
Establish maintenance quality and consistency checks and measures. Frequent audits of machinery and equipment to be conducted to ensure proper procedures are being followed and a quality product is being processed.
Manage outside contractor work to ensure the contractors are trained and in compliance with our safety and environmental standards.
Manage invoices and PO’s
Ensure all employees are following prescribed PPE safety requirements for their assigned work area and are following site safety rules.
Consistently promote a safe working environment. This includes keeping all materials, supplies, tools and any other production related items in their place. Implement and sustain 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
Immediately report and properly document any safety items related to you or any departmental employees. Safety items to be reported include but are not limited to bodily injury, near misses, potential dangers, spills and/or any other accidents.
Implement and sustain all relevant ISO and food safety standards. Active participate in safety committee meetings.
This position shall be required to address all safety related items in their department and lead any discussions surrounding safety.
Work proactively and collaboratively with employees to ensure daily production demands are met, achieve KPI’s and correct issues as they arise.
Work with internal stakeholders to implement continuous improvement actions to close gaps of KPI’s or increase productivity as needed. Lead and/or participate in root cause problem solving to solve problems.
Provide coaching, feedback, and training as appropriate to develop team capabilities, improve performance and/or onboard new employees.
Drive the development of an empowered and self-directed maintenance department.
Maintain timekeeping for maintenance employees in Novatime system.
Supervises and tracks scheduled and emergency work for off-shift maintenance technicians. Manage work orders daily in Megamation (opening, closing, scheduling).
Lead daily startup meetings with maintenance team
Maintains accurate records of maintenance work performed and supports inventory activity
Provides systematic troubleshooting of equipment
Major role in planning and implementation of packaging and distillery/warehouse shutdown activities
Execute departmental and personal projects and initiatives to improve safety, reduce costs, minimize waste, and improve performance
Provides regular status updates to management

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
Experience
A minimum of 3-5 years experience in progressive maintenance/engineering positions.
Experience in beverage industry is a plus
Previous experience supervising in a union environment
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of relevant maintenance standards, regulations and legislation
Ability to utilize Microsoft office and other production maintenance monitoring and control systems & technology
Familiarity with CMMS systems (Megamation preferred)
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
Ability to communicate verbally and in written format, summarizing ideas, making recommendations and setting out processes and procedures
Results orientation and ability to manage outputs through Key Performance Indicators
Strong expertise in mechanical and electrical systems
