The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting while contributing to the Company’s financial success. This position leads the accounting team, ensures the accurate preparation of financial statements and manages internal controls. 


Key Responsibilities:


Financial Management

  • Manage daily operations of the accounting department. 
  • Establish and enforce the company’s accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Coordinate financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections.
  • Oversee preparation of financial statements and associated reporting. 
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement internal controls to minimize risk.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial and tax reporting in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements. 
  • Prepare monthly management analysis for individual locations and report significant budget variances.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to support the annual audit process. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees responsible for financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, and budget preparation.
  • Delegate work based on team members’ expertise, experience, and workload.
  • Oversee project completion to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to specifications.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, employee participation, and professional development.
  • Implement and monitor internal control policies for all financial activities.

Additional Duties

  • Support the executive leadership team with special financial projects and assignments as requested.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team and operations teams to identify process improvements.
  • Attend seminars and meetings as scheduled. Actively participate and bring new ideas and suggestions.
  • Commitment to self-improvement and on-going development. 
  • Maintain consistent focus on goals and opportunities identified through performance evaluations / actions plans / career development plans etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight time limits.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
