Program: Community Fundraising
Department: Development
Reports to: Director, Community Fundraising
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Los Angeles, CA
CENTER'S MISSION: Building a world where LGBT people thrive as healthy, equal, and complete members of society.
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Development department is responsible for the fundraising to support the Center’s many programs and services that are not financially supported by government grants. The department raises nearly $20 million through individual gifts, private foundation grants, corporate donations, estate and legacy gifts, as well as several fundraising events such as the annual Vanguard Awards Gala.
JOB SUMMARY: The Center is seeking a Marketing & Communications Lead to own the strategy, execution, and measurement of all marketing and communications efforts for a new cycling event that supports the work of the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
This role will shape the event’s narrative, design and execute high-touch yet scalable campaigns, and ensure riders, volunteers, donors, and the broader community feel connected to our mission and inspired to support the cause. It’s a hands-on position for a creative, organized, and mission-driven communicator who can balance big-picture strategy with day-to-day execution.
This individual will serve as a cross-functional teammate who thrives in collaboration, brings a self-starter mindset, and has a strong grasp of audience segmentation and full-funnel marketing. You’ll design and optimize user journeys that recognize the needs of different participants—whether that’s showing a first-time rider the basics on social, giving veteran riders deeper stories of impact, or tailoring messaging for volunteers and donors.
This is not a one-size-fits-all marketing role. We’re seeking someone who brings creativity, strategy, and excellence to every touchpoint, understands how to connect storytelling with measurable outcomes, and takes pride in crafting communications that feel both personal and scalable.
