JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description The Target Hiring Range for this position is: $96,000-$114,000 The Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA) is currently seeking a talented Reprographics Supervisor to lead and supervise Printing Graphics and Direct Mail's (PGDM) Printing, Bindery, and Mailing team. The working hours of this position are from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In this role, you will work closely with two Reprographic Supervisors, who oversee operations during the early morning and evening shifts. The Reprographic Supervisors follow a rotating schedule across PGDM's two printing facilities, ensuring consistent support and collaboration. The primary location for printing activities is PGDM's Landover, MD print facility (LPF), while the Capitol Hill facility provides prompt quick copy services and Senate floor chart support. In this pivotal role, you will provide exceptional leadership, support, and strategic direction to ensure the production of high-quality print products for Senate offices. The range of products you will oversee includes, but is not limited to, books, stationery, programs, banners, pop-up displays, floor charts, business cards, memo pads, certificates, mass mailers, and credentials. As the Reprographics Supervisor, you will manage a skilled team that operates a diverse array of printing, bindery, and mailing equipment, including offset presses (up to an 8-color 28-inch press), wide-format flatbed and roll printers, inkjet presses, digital printers, foil stamping machines, programmable paper cutters, folders, shrink wrappers, mail sorters, and addressing and tabbing equipment, among others. We are seeking a candidate with extensive experience in leading teams within the printing, bindery, and mailing sectors while upholding the highest quality standards. A strong understanding of production processes and the ability to implement effective strategies that enhance productivity are essential for success in this role.

Key Accountabilities/Essential Job Duties
Creates spreadsheets of minimum requirements for software and equipment that Publishing, Printing, Bindery, and Mailing are looking to upgrade or purchase. Plans, assigns and reviews work of assigned staff; regulates and adjusts assignments in order to meet work demands and deadlines; trains and counsels staff; tracks and ensures employees receive timely performance feedback quarterly, conducts performance evaluations of staff; schedules leave, escalates personnel matters as necessary for discipline or recognition. Assists in developing, managing, and monitoring the operating budget, including current year tracking and short- and long-range budget planning by providing feedback from research on lifecycle and replacement of equipment and supplies. Develops and manages internal hot folders and shortcuts by mapping networks, obtaining IP addresses, connecting printers, downloading and installing software updates and print drivers. Uses data tracking software to create work orders, adjust master job tickets, and checks inventory, location of job, No Later Than (NLT list), shift summaries, cost centers and job managers. Implements policies and procedures; creates and examines criteria for evaluating section and operating effectiveness and efficiency; conducts studies of departmental operations to assess conformity with administrative policy and practices. Participates in the formulation of short- and long-range plans for personnel, equipment, and maintenance in the section; oversees implementation of plans to ensure that services are provided without interruption. Researches technologies compatible with the printing and mail or publishing functions; makes recommendations to the Technical or Production Managers for the mission and technology direction for the section. Employs excellent written and speaking communication as contacts are frequent with other sections and departments and individuals representing Senate members and/of significant importance within the government.
