Description
Coughlin & Gerhart, LLP is seeking a full-time, benefits-eligible Firm Administrator will oversee non-attorney staff who perform a variety of clerical and administrative support tasks to facilitate the efficient operation of the law firm. In addition, will provide HR support and guidance to the Executive Team and other firm leaders.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises and counsels legal support staff, including receptionists.
- Recruits and assists in hiring new non-attorney employees.
- Complies and conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the office; prioritizes use of support staff.
- Maintains a professional and positive work environment by facilitating effective communication and information sharing among professional, paraprofessional, management, and support staff.
- Participates in strategic planning process with management to identify and accomplish short- and long-term organizational goals.
- Drafts and implements operational and human resource policies and practices to ensure quality services.
- Coordinate employee events (holiday party, summer picnic, etc.).
- Maintain knowledge and responsibility to ensure organization’s compliance with federal, state and local employment legislation.
- Manage all benefits and leave administration for the firm and ensure proper communication to all personnel.
- Assist management with administration and organization of wages and salary program
- Manage personnel matters for all satellite offices, including as related to merger and acquisitions
- Additional duties assigned by Executive Committee
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented and professional.
- Advanced understanding of office management practices including knowledge of human resources and HRIS systems.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate.
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or other similar software program.
- Ability to maintain confidential records.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or related field required.
- At least five years of experience in a senior management position preferred.
