About this Role

We are seeking a skilled GCP Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable, secure data pipelines and architectures on Google Cloud Platform. This role involves close collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and optimised for analytics and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in GCP services, data modelling, and automation of ETL/ELT workflows.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using Cloud Datafusion, Cloud Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer
  • Integrate structured and unstructured data into data lakes or warehouses using Cloud Dataprep, Data Fusion, and BigQuery
  • Build scalable data models and storage architectures using BigQuery, Cloud Spanner, and Cloud SQL
  • Automate ETL/ELT workflows to streamline data ingestion, transformation, and loading
  • Monitor and optimise data processing systems for performance and cost-efficiency using GKE, BigQuery BI Engine, and Cloud Monitoring
  • Implement data governance, encryption, access control, and compliance using Cloud IAM, DLP, and Audit Logs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Set up monitoring and alerting systems using Cloud Logging and Cloud Monitoring to ensure high availability

Who you are

  • 7–10 years of experience in data engineering or cloud-based data solutions
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform services
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, JEXL, and data pipeline orchestration
  • Experienced with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Composer
  • Familiar with CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
  • Knowledgeable in data governance, security, and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
  • GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer) are advantageous
  • Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud environments
