e4c’s Youth Housing Programs (YHP) provide transitional housing for youth aged 14–17 who are navigating significant barriers including trauma, substance use, homelessness, poverty, and systemic oppression. We are currently seeking a Youth Worker to join our dynamic, trauma-informed team. This role is integral in building trusting relationships with youth, facilitating meaningful case planning, and fostering a safe, supportive living environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management & Support
- Facilitate individualized case assessments and case management meetings.
- Support youth in goal setting and achieving outcomes related to education, employment, life skills, and well-being.
- Provide advocacy, referrals, and follow-ups with external agencies including legal, medical, and child welfare services.
- Communicate regularly with legal guardians and document youth progress.
- Maintain up-to-date case files and internal documentation.
Safe and Supportive Environment
- Create a home-like atmosphere that promotes stability, safety, and mutual respect.
- Model and reinforce positive behaviors, communication, and conflict resolution.
- Complete critical incident reports as required.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed.
Direct Care & Daily Living Support
- Provide one-on-one crisis intervention and emotional support.
- Prepare nutritious meals and plan recreational activities in line with youth interests and budget.
- Foster healthy family and community relationships when appropriate.
Community Engagement
- Build and maintain positive relationships with community members and neighbors.
- Document interactions using provided reporting tools.
What you bring to the team:
- Diploma or Degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or Human Services.
- Minimum 3 years supporting marginalized youth; experience with LGBTQ2S+, newcomers, and youth experiencing addictions or mental health challenges is a strong asset.
- Strong communication, crisis intervention, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working independently and in a team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and case management tools.
- A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are required.
