Riverside Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Server & Storage Engineer. If you like working in a fast-paced environment and have great customer service skills, we welcome your application! As a Server & Storage Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining server, storage, and virtualization environments based on design specifications. RTI has multiple levels of engineers with various responsibilities, including:
- Designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing RTI’s customers’ server and storage infrastructure
- Maximizing uptime and performance of critical systems
- Modifying, repairing, and upgrading server and storage systems
- Field Engineering up to 50% travel
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing onsite and/or remote support for servers, storage arrays, hypervisors, and backup systems
- Designing and implementing server and storage solutions, including virtualization, SAN/NAS, and cloud integrations
- Installing, configuring, and supporting servers (Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V) and enterprise storage systems (SAN, NAS, DAS)
- Monitoring server performance, storage utilization, and system health, investigating faults, and resolving issues for our customers
- Performing system upgrades, patch management, firmware updates, and capacity planning
- Working with OEMs, distributors, third-party support, and service vendors to ensure systems meet performance and availability expectations
- Providing technical assistance and support for incoming issues related to servers, storage, operating systems, and virtualization platforms
- Communicating accurately, concisely, and professionally with the customer about repair steps taken, parts ordered, and time estimated until completion
- Maintaining documentation and communicating updates to project teams and customers
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information technology, computer science, or related field preferred
- Server, storage, and virtualization certifications highly desired: HPE, VMware VCP, Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), Dell EMC, CompTIA Server+
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault, etc.) is a plus
- 1 year in field service support role supporting a variety of server and storage environments
- 3+ years' experience in server, storage, and virtualization design and deployment is highly desired
- Ability to travel. Position can be up to 50% travel, both in and out of state, including overnight stays
- Must be available for varying shifts depending on customers’ needs
- Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in actions, demeanor, and dress
- Must have exceptional driving record and have a valid driver’s license
- Regular reliable attendance
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background check
- Must have ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working at heights of 3-40 ft.
