Job Description:

The Senior Financial Accountant is an integral part of the Finance team, working autonomously at times while having the authority to formulate solutions and make decisions within reason.

This position is responsible for analyzing cash flows, planning and tracking accounts payable, performing account reconciliations, and assisting in supporting a four business-day monthly close process. The Senior Financial Accountant has excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. This position develops and implements accounting best practices and assists the North America Finance Business Partner with other requests as needed.

The Senior Financial Accountant reports directly to the North America Finance Business Partner. This position will work in tandem with various departments and maintain a flexible attitude, supporting all the work that helps in achieving organizational goals.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the accounting close process, including Fixed Assets reviews, Prepaid release, Accounts Payable processing, preparation of accruals across OPEX, and preparation of journal entries, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Perform Bank Reconciliations and monthly Account reconciliations.
  • Partner with HR in financial analysis of fringe benefit expenses, including employer payroll taxes, health insurance, and retirement plan costs, providing strategic insights to Finance and Leadership as well as preparation of Payroll entries.
  • Partner with NA A/R Credit Manager for assisting in processing incoming payments for Wholesale and DTC customers and act as secondary invoicing support.
  • Drive process improvements and lead exciting accounting transformation projects to achieve scalability, efficiency, and productivity
  • Serve as a key liaison between Accounting, Finance, Operations, HR and Sales, ensuring alignment in accounting treatments, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiencies.
  • As a partner to North America Finance Business Partner, assist in year-end audit to schedule requests of external auditors and tax providers
  • Synthesize complex data into presentation-ready executive summaries
  • Ad Hoc projects and analyses
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years experience in accounting or a related field
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
  • Ability to read and analyze financial reports.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills with advanced Excel skills 
  • Ability to exercise integrity and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Communicate effectively verbally or in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Possess a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Flexible and adaptable when facing changing priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Software and ERP systems such as SAP preferable.

This is a full-time office-based position (with opportunity for 1-2 remote work days per week); located in Broomfield, Colorado. The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000 with the starting salary around the mid point of this range.
