SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Help Desk Specialist is an entry-level IT role supporting the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids’ (CTFK) technology needs. This position helps ensure smooth technology usage for staff and consultants by resolving technical issues, fulfilling service requests, and assisting with ongoing IT projects. The Specialist provides exceptional customer support, assists with hardware/software setup, and develops foundational IT skills in a supportive team environment.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH:
• Deliver responsive technical support via onsite, and remote channels.
• Troubleshoot and resolve common hardware, software, and connectivity issues for PCs, Macs, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Assist with user account setup and management in Microsoft 365 and other cloud platforms.
• Support and troubleshoot web conferencing and AV equipment.
• Maintain, build, and install computers, peripherals, and standard software applications.
• Monitor and respond to support tickets in the IT help desk system.
• Assist with device management (exposure to Intune and Mosyle).
• Provide basic training and guidance to staff on IT systems and best practices.
• Document troubleshooting steps and update user guides.
• Assist with IT inventory management, and office moves.
• Support the IT team in organizational projects as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Information Technology.
SKILLS YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE:
• Associate degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, or other entry-level certifications are desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• At least 2 years of IT support experience (including internships, part-time roles, or academic experience).
• Familiarity with PC and Mac environments, user account management, and common troubleshooting.
• Exposure to AV/web conferencing tools a plus.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Strong interest in technology and willingness to learn new systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365; familiarity with Active Directory, Intune, and JAMF is helpful but not required.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and motivated to grow in the IT field.
