Description

The Resort Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services required for resort operations. This role manages vendor relationships, negotiates contracts, and ensures compliance with quality and cost standards to support departments such as Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance and more. 


Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with the resort’s operational needs and budgetary guidelines. 

Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure high-quality goods/services at competitive prices. 

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with department heads to anticipate and fulfill procurement needs. 

Manage purchase orders, contracts, and delivery schedules to ensure timely procurement and minimize disruption to operations. 

Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, and reporting for auditing and budgeting purposes. 

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. 

Ensure compliance with resort policies, legal regulations, and sustainability initiatives. 

Collaborate with finance and accounting teams for invoice verification, budget tracking, and forecasting. 

Supervise purchasing assistants or coordinators, if applicable. 


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or related field. 

3–5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in a hospitality or resort environment. 

Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills. 

Proficiency in procurement software, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Knowledge of hospitality standards, vendor management, and cost control practices. 


Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with hospitality purchasing systems (e.g., BirchStreet, Adaco, MarketMan). 

Experience with sustainable or local sourcing initiatives. 


Working Conditions:

Office-based with regular interaction across all resort departments. 

Flexible working hours may be required, including weekends or holidays, depending on operational needs.
