We are currently seeking an exceptional Production Supervisor to be an integral part of the Orlando, Florida team at Sherwood Southeast LLC. The Production Supervisor will be directly responsible for overseeing and organizing staff, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work and processes on the production floor. They will oversee scheduling and routine production activities, work flow, first-line point of contact should challenges arise as well as providing input for appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include the following, however, Management reserves the right to assign or reassign other appropriate duties to this job at any time.
- Follow all safety guidelines and participate as a fully-empowered team member to achieve organization-wide goal of zero incidents.
- Key contact for continuous improvement in department with regards to safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
- Generates the final production schedules for departmental production lines.
- Schedule production equipment to meet delivery date while maximizing manufacturing efficiencies.
- Key member of scrap reduction team, responsible for suggesting and implementing corrective actions in manufacturing.
- Key member or Project Lead for Departmental Housekeeping
- Ongoing communication and follow-through with crew concerning
- Safety, Quality and Scrap issues.
- Conducts downtime root cause analysis and suggests/implements corrective action.
- Calculates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures and instructions to meet productions schedules, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates and implements plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains production records, employee attendance and performance data.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for positions in assigned area.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Act as back up to Production Manager in his/her absence.

- Five (5) + years of direct supervisory experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Combination of education, skills and experience will be considered.
- Must be able to measure using the metric & imperial systems
- Intermediate math skills are needed to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, to practical situations; ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks associated with the production of mattresses.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical form.
