Objective
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, a Junior Counselor operates as the front lines of Moody, fielding general admission and program-related questions, servicing the undergraduate and graduate schools, both online and on campus. They are expected to communicate up-to-date information to both applicants and the public. These goals are accomplished primarily through phone communication (inbound and outbound calls), text messaging, emailing, and face-to-face interaction with prospective students.
Essential Functions
- Monitor the general Admissions phone line answering questions and getting people connected to their Admissions Counselor.
- Monitor and respond to inbound communications through text, live chat and email.
- Complete regular call campaigns.
- Assist Full-time Admissions Counselors with recruitment and communication efforts.
- Providing tours and information sessions to campus visitors.
- Assisting with Experience Moody days.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- A minimum of one semester of enrollment at Moody Bible Institute.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Quick learner and the ability to problem solve.
- Passionate for the work and ministry of Moody Bible Institute.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in a customer service centered job.
- At least one year of enrollment as a student at Moody Bible Institute.
Work Environment/Conditions
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
