STATUS:  Full-time 37.5 hours per week

HOURLY RATE: $25.64 to $26.67


SUMMARY

Provides coordination of Finger Lakes Caregiver Institute (FLCI) Partners in Caring Respite Program which helps caregivers receive volunteer respite. Works with and provides oversight to and supervision of volunteer coordinator(s) and case manager. FLCI Services are provided throughout a 9-county region, including Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne and Yates counties with a Partners in Caring volunteer program focus on Monroe, Livingston, Wayne and Ontario counties. Includes oversight of in-home respite, deaf caregiver program and works closely with ROC respite project staff, drop-in respite programs and responsible for all reporting for responsible program areas.


1. Supervision

  • Participates in the hiring, coaching, training and monitoring of PIC Respite staff.
  • Supervises all Partners in Caring respite program staff, including Volunteer & Outreach Coordinators, Respite Case Manager, Caregiver Support Specialist/Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Completes Annual Evaluations for supervised staff.
  • Guides Respite Team to ensure all components are organized, staff are collaborating and program is successful.

2. Program

  • Oversees all Partners in Caring program operations
  • Responsible for identifying and assisting with start-up and on-going connection with drop-off respite sites.
  • Ensures volunteer program policies and procedures are up-to-date and in accordance with all agency volunteer policies.
  • Member of Agency Volunteer Coordination committee.
  • Works with Volunteer Coordinators and case managers to make appropriate placements.
  • Assists with volunteer respite orientation sessions, volunteer socials, and all aspects of volunteer management.
  • Ensures complete and proper data collection.

3. Outreach. 

  • With Respite team, arrange and conduct community presentations for visibility of FLCI Caregiver Respite program and recruitment of volunteers and caregivers. 
  • With Respite team, conducts outreach to community groups, faith communities, and volunteer organizations.

4. General Administration & Operations

  • Assists with development and monitoring of program goals and objectives within policies and procedures of Lifespan.
  • Tracks all data for program using Excel, Better Impact, Peer Place and others as applicable.
  • Assists with budgeting for all additional respite program project funding outside of DOH as applicable.
  • General office management.
  • Provides on-going updates and monthly reports to FLCI Director.
  • Prepares reports as requested by the Director as needed.

5. Responsible for assistance with new respite related projects as applicable.


6. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

    

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field

Experience: Preferred: A minimum of two years working with caregivers. Must have knowledge of caregiver issues and community resources. Knowledge of and experience working with people who have Alzheimer’s Disease/dementia a plus.


PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel by car. Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s      license.
  • Very strong computer skills, including Word, Outlook with ability in Excel required. 
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to complete reports utilizing basic math and Excel skills
  • Basic knowledge of principles of human services research
  • Ability to perform work at a desk or at a personal computer station
  • Some standing during group presentations and professional trainings.
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills are required
  • Interface with all levels of personnel and with staff from other organizations
  • Ability to maintain composure under deadlines
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural situations

Salary/Hourly Rate

Multiple factors will be considered for salary/hourly determination including, years of relevant service, skills required, education, and internal equity.
