As a business unit of IDEX Corporation, GAST Manufacturing has a long history of being the leader in design and manufacturing of quality air-moving products. We specialize in offering cost effective solutions for a wide variety of industries including industrial manufacturing, healthcare, and environmental cleanup applications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responsible for staging orders and ensuring assemblers and machinist have all material required to build and machine scheduled product.
- Responsible for pulling and replenishing parts for assigned value stream.
- Responsible for cycle count accuracy for all parts in the value stream. This includes cycle counting, back flushing and value stream material transactions.
- Responsible for the material 5S for assigned value stream(s). This includes, but is not limited to, consolidating loads, skids, labeling racks and shelves.
- Responsible for preparing all materials required for sub-assembly and final assembly and pack to insure required pitch is achieved. Required to work on the line when needed.
Standard (Level 1) Stock Mover:
- Staging Orders – Understand and appropriately put orders in sequence.
- Entered Pull List – Know where to locate and enter.
- Cycle Count – Know where to get the list, how to perform cycle count, and where to return it.
- Negative Report – Understand the purpose of the negative report, where to get report and how to resolve.
- 5S – Maintain the value stream in an organized and tidy manner, and appropriately segregate items for disposal.
- Scrap Material – Accurately scrap material using the scrap and red tag process.
- Packaging Material – Be able to gather, stage and identify location of material for lines.
- Outlook – Perform basic duties in Outlook.
- Safety Training – Completed Safety Training and maintain safety protocol.
- Forklift – Complete and pass forklift training.
Standard (Level 2) Stock Mover:
- Maintain proper use of the drop off zone
- Can correctly identify where parts are stored for value stream in all locations including high rise, cell and on the line.
- Able to correctly transfer and Value Stream hold location in JDE.
- Know what VMI is, how the process works and who to call/when.
- How to label rack, where to get labels and the cell storage layout.
- Proficient in at least 2 lines in the Value Stream supporting.
- Completed Excel Training.
- Completed JDE Training.
- AD HOC Work Orders – Understand who to get reports from and when they are ready.
- Backfill – Stock Mover should be able to fill in absence of Line Lead
- Maintain Stock Mover 4.1 duties and trainings
Skilled (Level 3) Stock Mover:
- Two (2) years in position and has been through at least one physical inventory without any large discrepancies in assigned area (50k or less).
- Be able to fill in for VSL role of moving team and scheduling work.
- Can fill in on all lines they are supporting.
- Can demonstrate proficiency (needs to be yellow category on training matrix).
- Maintain StockMover 4.1 and StockMover 4.2 duties and trainings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:
High School Diploma
Lift Truck License
5S Training
Operate Computer; Fax; Copier, And Other Office Equipment.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Demonstrated commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment. Thinks independently, shows initiative, anticipates and prevents problems. Mental/Physical/Visual Acuity. High energy. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. Ability to do long term repetitive work. Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications. Ability to learn and operate computers.
