Under supervision of the Facility Services & Real Estate Engineering & Reliability Leader, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for providing support for operations and maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operations of the facilities located at Indianapolis. The Maintenance Planner will review incoming work orders, ensure work is valid, seek necessary approvals, and help coordinate the work order to ensure it can be scheduled by the work leads. The maintenance planner will define work and ensure proper resources are in place to schedule work. The planner will also receive completed work orders and ensure all work process requirements were completed.
As part of an empowered team, the qualified candidate must communicate and collaborate well within a diverse working environment which includes scientists, lab personnel, contractors, executives, and internal skilled craftsman personnel. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a group as necessary are essential for success in this position.
This position is located at the Global Headquarters in Indianapolis.
KEY REPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize CMMS system (eMaint) to issue, manage, track and validate maintenance activities on site
- Scope and coordinate the full extent of maintenance work needed: repair/preventative/predictive; after evaluating cost vs. benefit
- Develop cost/time estimates of planned maintenance work and compare actual time submitted
- Develop sourcing plans for all necessary parts, equipment, tools, documentation (SOPs), services to perform maintenance work
- Facilitate authorization of applicable maintenance procedures (confined space, elevated work, crane plans, shutdown notices, etc.)
- Review completed work orders to issue follow up work, assign labor/parts, and for required changes- new assets, job plan tasks updates, frequency changes, location changes, etc.
- Provides asset tags and receives asset data entry forms for replaced equipment
- Provides eMaint (CMMS software) support - work order portal, user accounts, equipment/location changes
- Provide technical expertise to site operations & maintenance of facility equipment/systems
- Collaborate with skilled trades leads, operations leader, maintenance leader, building managers and engineering team to ensure work order processes are executed.
- Work closely with the site’s Environmental Health & Safety team to ensure work orders are completed safely.
- Other duties as become necessary to support company goals and/or projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of facility, manufacturing or power plant maintenance experience
- 1+ years of maintenance planning/scheduling
- Excellent communication skills, organizational and work coordination skills, and interpersonal skills are critical to role success.
- An associates degree or technical trade school certificate is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding infrastructure and building systems including but not limited to site utilities, security, building management, R&D operations, environmental, insectary, R&D sciences, greenhouses, and a vast variety of research laboratories.
- Individuals must be self-motivated, have demonstrated personal initiative, have excellent organizational skills, and a strong work ethic.
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Interested in learning new skills, gaining knowledge of Corteva business processes and investigating new technologies to support cutting-edge projects.
- Safety certifications/qualifications preferred.
- Journeymen or Master Tradesman in at least one maintenance field is preferred: i.e. electrical, instrumentation, pipefitting, refrigeration, and plumbing
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis and report generation to support operational decision-making and performance tracking.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Must have the ability to interpret technical vendor literature (i.e. Installation, Maintenance and Operation manuals) and transfer this information independently and effectively to critical work processes.
- Knowledge of Building Management/Control Systems
- A working knowledge of piping and instrument drawings, electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment drawings, and similar.
- Administrative experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems: i.e. Maximo, eMaint, etc.
- Use of the standard Microsoft applications - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
SOFT SKILLS:
- Self-motivation and ability to work with minimum direct supervision.
- Great time management skills including the ability to manage a diverse workload.
- Interpersonal skills for developing a client base and working in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and desire to expand knowledge.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple concurrent activities and deliver on commitments under tight time constraints.
- Ability to work in a team environment to deliver per department/personal objectives.
- Strong ability in listening and communication, including consulting by telephone.
- Comfortable working with colleagues with a variety of backgrounds.
- Focused on delivering effective, usable results.
- Sound interpersonal skills, confidence, and ability to form good working relationships and negotiate effectively with internal and external contacts.
