Job Purpose
Provide senior level scientific, business and strategic leadership for diverse sponsor- driven preclinical oncology discovery programs from idea inception through to candidate nomination and early clinical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for scientific output and program leadership at Scientific Lead level; accountable for managing technical and operational excellence, in delivering sponsor-driven programs
- Serve as an oncology disease area leader and/or Radiopharmaceutical and/ or ADC discovery and development and/or Imaging subject matter expert providing advisory role with the clients.
- Innovate and drive scientific and process strategy for local preclinical sites and/or global sites in partnership with Discovery preclinical services leaders.
- Enforce scientific rigor and high quality and timely execution of partnered and internal R&D programs, while enhancing process efficiencies.
- Strategic planning and leading innovative capability initiatives to expand scientific capabilities and offerings, including tumor models (e.g. PDX, tumor resistance, orthotopic), multimodal Imaging technologies and molecular techniques.
- Engage clients directly and in association with BD teams, in acquiring new clients and business opportunities to drive growth and profitability.
- Manage and scale business responsibly, with a balanced approach of prioritizing client satisfaction and operational efficiency to improve credibility.
- Interact with study directors and sponsors and provide scientific oversight of study design, preparation of protocols, high quality delivery, interpretation of data, and preparation of reports.
- Mentor a team of study directors and juniors-functional scientists either directly or work collaboratively in a matrixed environment.
- Represent Perceptive at scientific meetings and support sales and marketing teams; Externalize science and innovation by authoring posters and publications.
- Work with the Delivery team in authoring and/or reviewing technical documents, study and IACUC protocols, interim and final reports, presentations etc.
- Identify key science-based challenges and determine resolution of issues and advance scientific programs through exemplary leadership
Functional Competencies (Technical knowledge/Skills)
- Hands-on experience either with radiochemistry or acquiring pre-clinical imaging data, familiarity with data acquisition, analysis techniques, quality control, and experience in interpretation and presentation of such data
- Deep and/or broad experience applying imaging to the study of disease in one or more therapeutic areas
- Experience with relevant in vitro/ex vivo/ in vivo methodologies including Flowcytometry, Multimodal Imaging, Tumor modeling, Radioligand binding, Autoradiography, and Immunohistochemistry
- Expertise in small molecules or biologics radiochemistry and/ or ADCs
- Expertise in the design, execution, analysis, and interpretation of pharmacology, Dosimetry, and/or efficacy studies in rodent models
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

- Maintains an up-to-date awareness of trends, tools, technology, techniques and processes that affect testing and technology within the Life sciences domain.
Experience, Education, and Certifications
- Education: Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Cancer Biology, Molecular biology, Radiochemistry, or related discipline is preferred. Post-doctoral experience in a related discipline is a plus.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience with documentation as a subject matter expert in the discipline of Oncology/ Radioligand therapies/ Imaging may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the requirements listed above.
- Experience: Minimum of 6-10 years related experience in research or pharmaceutical environment. Management experience is essential.
- Other: Experience in use of desktop applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases) and network navigation required.
- Proven line management and leadership management.
- Experience using tools to communicate progress to Stakeholders.
- English: Fluent.
