The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) supports our customer’s engineering teams in evaluation and design-in of power, analog, mixed signal and imaging for Industrial and automotive applications. In this role, the candidate will work in a team of sales engineers and FAEs to support the regional key and mass market Customers. His/her role involves close interaction with product marketing and development teams in Europe, North America and Asia.
Responsibilities
• Present company solutions to customers and channel partners.
• Maximize onsemi business in the assigned region / customer base.
• Identify new opportunities and apply disciplined Funnel Management.
• Develop an understanding of the customer’s systems and requirements to become an application/subject matter expert.
• Contribute to the definition and development of new products by capturing customer needs.
• Develop strong technical relationships with customer’s R&D staff & channel partners.
• Provide training to our channel partners on our latest technologies and capture latest trends.
• Help trouble-shoot issues in customer applications.
Qualifications
You have a University Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in Power and Analog, desirable also mixed signal ICs and related technologies. Previous experiences with customer facing activities is a plus.
Your focus will be on the industrial and automotive segments with applications such as renewable energy, power conversion, and industrial automation (motor control, industrial sensing, communication & connectivity). Therefore we value your knowledge of the following hardware technologies:
- Power conversion: Power Modules, IGBT, MOSFET and WBG technologies (SiC & GaN) and related driving circuits.
- Power supply: power management techniques and ICs, AC-DC conversion, DC-DC conversion, DC-AC conversion for Industrial and automotive applications.
- Motor drive and control: motor technologies, inverters, and associated topologies using semiconductor power discretes and modules.
- Industrial Automation and sensing: industrial connectivity, sensing, wireless communication.
On a personality level, you are an independent worker and a team player, showing a high degree of initiative. People know you as an active listener with strong communication skills. Fluent Spanish and English are required.
This role is home office based, preferably in Madrid area. Willingness to travel and meet customers and channel partners is a must. Some travels within Europe are expected, and trips to US and Asia to a least extent.
