Role Description

  • Trade Finance and Lending (TF&L) business in Corporate Bank specializes in providing comprehensive financial solutions to support trade finance activities, Documentary Trade Business, Working Capital management, corporate loans, Project Finance, Natural Resource Finance and Export Credit Agency (ECA) financing.
  • We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced professional to join our Trade Finance & Lending Product & Process Management Team. In this role, you will play a crucial role with the wider onshore team in defining and executing product governance to ensure compliance with DB internal and regulatory requirements. You will support product risk assessment, product monitoring and risk mitigation activities for the global TF&L product portfolio in close cooperation with business and control functions.
  • This position offers the chance to work with a global team based in our hubs in Germany, other European countries, Singapore, India, China, and US.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support Systematic Product Reviews for the TFL product portfolio to assemble a 360 degree view on the product on a global scale.
  • Work closely with the product owner and further business and control function teams to:
    • Drive the SPR preparation process towards the final delivery
    • Gather input and approvals regarding product profile
    • Coordinate and prepare feedback sessions with relevant stakeholders
    • Assemble input, draft a comprehensive and consistent product view along the SPR requirements
    • Ensure in-time closure of the SPR at the given deadlines.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the SPR methodology and act as a Center of Competence for the SPR procedures and their practical implementation; monitor and integrate changes in the methodology, processes and contacts going forward
  • Contribute to develop a harmonized, efficient SPR process for TFL PPM across products by standardization and ongoing improvements. Develop abilities to manage several SPR processes in parallel
  • Build and maintain a SPR repository across all products in scope; keep track of the implementation of requirements resulting from the SPR reviews

Additionally, you will drive the preparation process of other relevant governance processes including regular AFC product risk reviews, EPM process recertification and Dormancy controls with relevant Business Product Managers and stakeholders.

  • Support regular AFC questionnaire reviews for all products across TF&L
  • Develop an understanding of the AFC questionnaire methodology and identify practicable methods for review with Business Product Managers in a standardized fashion
  • Support in regular ad hoc reviews for NPA dormancy control
  • Contribute to establishing a methodology (incl. identify standardization opportunities across product groups) for the NPA dormancy reviews
  • Support in the regular EPM process flow reviews,
  • Develop an understanding of the EPM process flows and features
  • Contribute to developing a harmonized process for EPM process recertification across all product groups in TF&L

Your skills and experience

  • Business or Masters degree
  • 1–2 years of experience in trade finance, distribution, credit risk, or related banking/finance roles.
  • Familiarity with transaction types such as corporate loans, project finance, guarantees, documentary trade and services (letters of credit/collections), and supply chain finance is highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills; comfort with financial data and working with large datasets.
  • Ability to visualize datasets (e.g. via Tableau), create PowerPoint presentations
  • High attention to detail and self-starter mentality
  • Effective communicator with strong English writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, self-driven, and comfortable working with virtual global teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
