ACCOUNTING MANAGER bei DIAMOND ANTENNA & MICROWAVE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for directing and coordinating the work of the accounting team in all aspects of accounting, including, but not limited to, payroll accounting, general ledger, cost, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, commissions, and related record keeping and reporting requirements for Diamond Antenna and DAE. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - include the following (other duties may be assigned): 

• Responsible for preparation, accuracy and timely distribution of accounting-related reports; including weekly, monthly, annual financials and various detailed analyses. 
• Perform a variety of advanced financial analyses to determine present and forecasted financial health of the company. Present potential scenarios and outcomes to management.
• Develop and distribute various financial reports supporting other business functions.
• Responsible for department staff: hiring, performance management, near term development needs, long term staffing plan, ensuring compliance to company policies & procedures.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with appropriate company, GAAP, regulatory, legal and contractual requirements.
• Assure accuracy of payroll accounting and that books tie to reports issued by payroll service.
• Prepare and support annual financial reviews/audits, various other targeted audits as necessary, bid & applied rates, annual company valuation, and mandated outside financial reporting.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure appropriate validation methods and redundant process backup are in place for every critical operation.
• Manage and comply with all local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Review financial documents to verify accuracy and compliance to regulations and acceptable financial principles.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

• BA/BS Degree in Accounting or related field

EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years experience in financial field
• 5+ years experience in an accounting leadership role with supervisory responsibility 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Payroll software and ERP system.
• Strong leadership skills 
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Management skills: planning, execution, organization, follow-up 
• Strong strategic planning, budgeting, financial forecasting and financial analysis skills
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities 
• Work and interact with departments throughout the organization, with ability to understand their requirements and developing solutions 
• Strong professional writing, communications and presentation skills.
• May require bonding.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Sitting for long periods of time with approximately 80% of work performed on computer and at desk.
