Since 1982, over 160,000 youth have been helped with Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.) programs. Y.O.U. helps teens and young adults, ages 14-24 living in economically distressed communities succeed by providing educational and workforce opportunities, skills development, and access to career pathways. We offer school-based and community-based programs designed to meet the needs of Northeast Ohio employers, with a focus on those industry sectors that provide the most opportunities for career success. Job Purpose

The Learning & Impact Specialist plays a key role in advancing our organization’s ability to measure, understand, and improve our impact. This position supports the Director of Training, Learning and Impact by managing and validating data, running reports, and helping integrate multiple data sources to ensure high-quality, actionable information. The Specialist will leverage Salesforce and other systems to support data-informed decision-making, enhance organizational learning, and contribute to the refinement of programs and strategies. The position requires a detail-oriented capacity for data collection, cleaning, analysis, and a systems level thinker with the ability to critically assess data and determine possible solutions to improve outcomes and build capacity. Central to the role will be the ability to initiate program evaluation inquiries, analyze data, assess outcomes, and provide recommendations to management to improve service delivery and program performance.

  

Essential Functions

Data Management & Quality Assurance

  • Perform timely and accurate data entry in Salesforce and other relevant systems.
  • Conduct data validation, cleaning, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain standardized data processes, documentation, and protocols for program teams.
  • Support integration of new data sources with Salesforce, in collaboration with Salesforce team or external consultants.
  • Work closely with the Salesforce team to ensure the system is configured to meet organizational data strategy needs and enable data-informed decision-making.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate and distribute recurring reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in analyzing program and organizational data to identify trends, outcomes, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare data visualizations, charts, and summaries to communicate findings clearly.
  • Maintain reporting schedules and ensure stakeholders receive data in a timely manner.

Impact Measurement & Learning

  • Support the Director of Training, Learning & Impact in implementing the organization’s impact measurement framework.
  • Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and program outcomes.
  • Contribute to internal learning initiatives, including data dialogues, evaluation summaries, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Gather feedback from staff and partners to inform improvements in data systems and processes.

Collaboration & Capacity Building

  • Provide training and technical assistance to staff on data entry, reporting tools, and Salesforce use.
  • Assist in the design and facilitation of organizational trainings on how to use data to inform decision-making.
  • Work closely with program teams to ensure data collection aligns with organizational priorities and compliance needs.
  • Collaborate with external evaluators or consultants as needed for special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Nonprofit Management, Social Sciences, Public Policy) preferred.
  • An additional 2 years of work experience as detailed below can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree along with an associate degree.
  • An additional 4 years of work experience as detailed below can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree along with a High School Diploma. 

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience with relational databases and data quality management
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, including reporting and dashboard creation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and validation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with program compliance and reporting.
  • Experience with quality assurance, process creation and documentation.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs and have experience with databases, Excel, word processing and data visualization tools.
  • Must have valid transportation to/from Y.O.U. offices, partner organizations, and other community-based locations. 
  • Must pass a background BCI/FBI check as a condition of employment.

Work Environment

  • This is a hybrid position. This position works at the office 3 days a week. Two days a week this position may work remotely. 
  • This position requires such physical abilities as sitting for computer and phone work, standing for periods of time during presentations, lifting up to 25lbs periodically and carrying supplies, and walking throughout office buildings and worksite locations. 
  • The environment in which the job is performed outside a normal office space may include exposure to extreme temperature, noise, heights, or other hazards. All remains the same for any additional requirements for training.
  • When working remotely, must have a workspace free of distractions and background noise (Pets, children, television, radio, etc.)
