Behavioral Health Therapist-Team Lead
- Salary Range: $33.34 - $40.01/hour or $69,347 -$83,221 annual salary
- Location: Larimer county, Colorado
- Status: full time, 40 hours per week
Role Overview:
Responsible for providing active clinical leadership to mental health and substance use disorder treatment staff in the delivery of evidence driven and integrated behavioral health services. This role will be responsible for conducting group and individual clinical supervision to case managers and Behavioral Health Therapists. They will also provide case consultation to clinicians and/or treatment team members, both in individual and group settings. May work alongside the leadership team within a program/site to prepare the clinical team for emerging treatments and/or service array changes. Responsible for performing direct client care for clients needing mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment.
Essential Duties:
- Provide guidance, training, technical assistance, and coaching to assigned mental health and substance use disorder treatment staff to ensure and maintain clinical skills. Act as a role model providing support and removing barriers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary professional staff within SummitStone and the community.
- Assist in providing on-site leadership, which may include providing crisis intervention, attending to needs of staff within the building, problem solving between treatment team members, or helping clients who need assistance.
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision to clinical staff members adhering to regulatory supervision requirements and documentation standards, ensuring the highest competence for clinical staff and effective treatment intervention.
- Provide a wide variety of individual, family, and group therapeutic and rehabilitative activities to achieve goals of services/treatment plan; prevent deterioration, and hospitalization.
- Conduct crisis intervention via telephone, face-to-face. Intervene and de-escalate crisis situations with clients. Assess the risk of harm to self or others and arrange needed resources.
- Observe clients in a variety of situations; assess mental status; formulate treatment plans and goals; perform case management services as needed to assist client to meet their goals as stated in their service/treatment plans; refer clients to supportive services such as vocational, medical social security, housing authority, etc.
- Advocate for clients in many different forums including the federal, state, and local court systems, with family, school system, etc.
- Assist clients in improving their well-being and quality of life by training in behavioral skills; educate clients to make informed choices; develop client coping skills; help consumers to problem solve and negotiate tasks of daily living.
- Document treatment plans, progress reports, group notes, individual notes, case management notes, letters, faxes, and phone calls. Follow proper protocol for documentation.
- Maintain close and cooperative relationships with community agencies and other public agencies in carrying out treatment/service plans.
- Follow agency productivity standards as outlined by SummitStone Health Partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field required.
- More than three years of experience in directly relevant experience in the behavioral health and substance use field required.
- Experience in a leadership role preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be evaluated and considered.
Highly Desired:
- Current professional license in appropriate discipline required – LCSW, LPC, or LMFT
- LAC preferred.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record may be required.
- CPR and First Aid certifications may be required at some locations
- Bilingual/Bi-cultural preferred
