Position Summary
The Director of Meals on Wheels provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Meals on Wheels program at Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality meal delivery services, efficient logistics, strong client and community engagement, and sound financial management. The Director will oversee transportation and call center operations, partner with appropriate departments on pricing and cost optimization, and lead community outreach to ensure the program continues to expand and sustain its mission of serving vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Strategy
- Provide overall leadership and vision for the Meals on Wheels program, ensuring alignment with organizational mission and strategic goals.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve service delivery, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance, using data and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
Operational Oversight
- Direct and manage daily operations including meal preparation, delivery logistics, and driver scheduling.
- Oversee call center operations to ensure timely, compassionate, and effective client support.
- Collaborate with Food Service and Operations teams to optimize processes, reduce costs, and maintain food quality.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as funder requirements.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage program budgets in partnership with Finance.
- Analyze pricing structures and implement cost-saving measures to reduce per-meal costs while maintaining service quality.
- Identify opportunities for revenue generation, grants, and partnerships to support program growth.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent Catholic Charities in the community, building strong partnerships with donors, agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Lead outreach initiatives to grow awareness and engagement with the Meals on Wheels program.
- Collaborate with Development to secure funding and support through grants, sponsorships, and donor engagement.
Team Leadership
- Directly supervise managers, supervisors, and staff across trucking/logistics, call center, and outreach functions.
- Build a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing team members, providing coaching and leadership development.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in program management, logistics, or nonprofit operations.
- Must be at least 25 years old, a valid Driver’s License with current minimum Nevada state required auto insurance and eligible to be covered by CCSN insurance.
- Experience managing budgets, analyzing financial performance, and implementing cost controls.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation management, and client service delivery.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams, build community partnerships, and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Work environment entails outdoors, office, vehicle and meeting environments.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, drivers, staff and volunteers is critical.
- High proficiency level to operate and use office equipment, especially computer, keyboard and mouse.
- Ability to drive a vehicle throughout entire shift. Must be able to get in and out of delivery vehicle repeatedly throughout the day as necessary.
- Ability to continuously sit and/or stand. Ability to regularly walk. Ability to climb stairs as needed.
- Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, push, and pull, twist and grip items with or without assistance
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and push up to 200 pounds on a pushcart.
