About the Role:

The Inventory Control Operator (2nd shift) plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of inventory management within a durable goods manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for monitoring, tracking, and maintaining inventory levels to support uninterrupted production and timely order fulfillment. The operator will collaborate closely with production, warehouse, and procurement teams to reconcile discrepancies and optimize stock levels. By maintaining precise inventory records and conducting regular audits, the role helps minimize waste and reduce carrying costs. Ultimately, the Inventory Control Operator ensures that materials and finished goods are available when needed, contributing directly to the company’s operational success and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in inventory control or warehouse operations, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Basic proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on the 2nd shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or certification in supply chain management, logistics, or related field.
  • Experience with durable goods manufacturing processes and terminology.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze inventory data and recommend process improvements.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and update inventory records daily to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies with system data.
  • Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to track material usage and finished goods movement.
  • Identify and report inventory variances, shortages, or excesses to management for corrective action.
  • Assist in implementing inventory control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize inventory management software to input data, generate reports, and analyze trends.
  • Support the receiving and shipping processes by verifying quantities and documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards during all inventory handling activities.

Skills:

The Inventory Control Operator uses strong organizational and analytical skills daily to maintain accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies quickly.
