Summary: The HR Generalist will partner with and report to the HR Manager. This position will assist in providing HR support for multiple sites. The position is responsible for supporting key plant initiatives through recruiting efforts, retention efforts, coordination of employee engagement and employee relations efforts, employee development and training initiatives, and policy administration. The ideal candidate will foster innovative ideas and a desire to explore new possibilities.

- Must be willing to travel to other sites.
- Must work in a manufacturing/distribution/warehouse environment with the physical and environmental aspects typically associated with such environment.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.
- Develop and maintain successful working relationships with colleagues and provide effective HR processes, advice, and support.

- Actively promote all safety related policies and programs to ensure colleague engagement and commitment to the benefits of working safe.
- Prepare position descriptions, track employment requisitions, and conduct new hire orientation.
- Participate in the selection and hiring process. Work with COE to coordinate searches, recruit prospective colleagues, screen candidates, and offer employment.
- Partner with various COE’s to assist colleagues with any questions or concerns that arise.
- Process hourly payroll across multiple sites.
- Partner to cultivate a workforce planning strategy and knowledge transfer process to build current and future bench strength, supporting succession planning.
- Increase understanding and consistent application of policies, procedures, and practices through training, coaching, one-on-one communication and policy interpretation.
- Provide feedback, coaching and support for development programs.
- Support performance management processes by coaching managers and employees, resolving conflicts, and promoting continuous improvement.
- Conduct employee relations activities including counseling, stay interviews, and exit interviews.
- Assist with internal communications and employee engagement initiatives.
- Prepare and analyze HR reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Conduct investigations, provide coaching, and document findings, when required.
- Serve as liaison between employees and site leadership, as needed.
- Manage special projects in workforce management, strategic planning, quarterly/monthly people data reports and other ad-hoc works in progress.
- Perform additional HR-related duties and tasks as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.
- AA/AS in Business, Human Resources or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
- Proven ability to successfully resolve employee relations issues while maintaining positive employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Successfully relates to and works with a diverse workforce in a variety of positions including senior leaders, location leaders and hourly colleagues.
- Ability to build trust, gain support and influence others.
- Proven ability to work independently, takes initiative and drives results.
- Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Willing and able to travel up to and including 15% for business purposes required.
