The Accounts Payable role will play a key role in supporting the finance team with day-to-day transactional accounting activities. The role involves working across accounts payable, receivables, and general ledger tasks, supporting internal stakeholders and contributing to accurate financial records and reporting.
This is a part-time role, around 3 days (or 22.5 hours) per week. We’re flexible on how you work these hours – whether as 3 full days or spread across the week.
This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and is eager to build their experience in a busy and collaborative finance function.
The role will also work with the Edinburgh office management team on a variety of tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyse and reconcile ledger accounts
- Process supplier invoices and nominal ledger receipts/payments
- Prepare and submit payment runs and other ad hoc bank transfers
- Assist other in the team with reporting and reconciliation tasks
- Respond to payment and invoice queries from internal and external stakeholders
- Generate and issue sales invoices
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Provide admin support to the finance team as needed
- Office management support
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a busy accounts or finance department
- Familiarity with accounting systems and processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
- Well organised with the ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
- Willingness to learn and contribute to a continually evolving process framework
- Experience within property or real estate finance (desirable but not essential)
