The Accounts Payable role will play a key role in supporting the finance team with day-to-day transactional accounting activities. The role involves working across accounts payable, receivables, and general ledger tasks, supporting internal stakeholders and contributing to accurate financial records and reporting.

This is a part-time role, around 3 days (or 22.5 hours) per week. We’re flexible on how you work these hours – whether as 3 full days or spread across the week.

This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and is eager to build their experience in a busy and collaborative finance function.

The role will also work with the Edinburgh office management team on a variety of tasks.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyse and reconcile ledger accounts
  • Process supplier invoices and nominal ledger receipts/payments
  • Prepare and submit payment runs and other ad hoc bank transfers
  • Assist other in the team with reporting and reconciliation tasks
  • Respond to payment and invoice queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Generate and issue sales invoices
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Provide admin support to the finance team as needed
  • Office management support

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a busy accounts or finance department
  • Familiarity with accounting systems and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Well organised with the ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to a continually evolving process framework
  • Experience within property or real estate finance (desirable but not essential)
