A bit about your role
The Domain Engineering Lead plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering strategic technology outcomes across nbn’s Appointment Booking, Scheduling, and Work Optimisation platform. Reporting to the Technology Domain Manager and working closely with architects, solution leaders, and DevSecOps managers, this role leads engineering delivery in a scaled agile environment. Responsibilities include translating strategy into actionable solutions, refining backlogs, embedding non-functional requirements, and ensuring technical integrity throughout the delivery lifecycle.
The role also fosters a high-performance culture by mentoring teams, promoting continuous improvement, and championing modern DevSecOps practices. As a key member of the domain leadership group, the Domain Engineering Lead collaborates across functions to align engineering outcomes with business priorities, while supporting team development, agile maturity, and operational excellence.
A bit about you
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in computer science or equivalent experience, with a proven track record in IT delivery and leadership within telecommunications or similar domains. They demonstrate deep expertise in appointment booking, scheduling, and technician optimisation platforms, with hands-on experience using tools such as ServiceMax, ServiceNow, Oracle Field Services, or ClickSchedule. Proficient in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), DevOps practices, and API development, they are skilled in agile methodologies and tools like Jira and SAFe.
Known for their clear communication, stakeholder engagement, and ability to lead cross-functional teams, they apply sound judgement, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement. Their approach is pragmatic and inclusive, with a passion for learning and a commitment to delivering high-quality, user-focused solutions.
