About This Opportunity 

Join Health Translation Queensland (HTQ) as a Senior Project Officer where you will play a vital role in supporting the Manager, Consumer and Community Engagement. This position will contribute to the delivery of the Consumer and Community Involvement (CCI) Training and Education Program, designed for researchers and lived experience health consumers.

As Senior Project Officer, you will coordinate and support a wide range of activities to ensure the success of the program. This includes planning and managing education initiatives, contributing to the development of a CCI train-the-trainer course for HTQ partner organisations, and fostering strong and productive partnerships with researchers, consumers and collaborators.

About You  

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Project Officer to support HTQ, in delivering the Consumer and Community Involvement (CCI) Training and Education Program for researchers and lived experience health consumers.

In this role, you will coordinate and manage a range of activities to achieve project outcomes, including education programs for researchers and consumers, as well as the development of a CCI train-the-trainer course for HTQ partner organisations. You will be part of a small, high-performing team with opportunities for professional development, working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires adaptability and a strong results focus.

  • A Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience or equivalent experience and/or equivalent education/training

  • Experience in project coordination and administration – demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end project activities including planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation, ideally within health, education, or community engagement settings.

  • Understanding of consumer and community involvement (CCI) – knowledge of CCI principles and practice in health and medical research, with a commitment to embedding consumer and community voices in education and research initiatives.

  • Training and education expertise – experience coordinating training and education programs, with the ability to tailor content to diverse audiences (e.g. researchers, health professionals, lived experience consumers, neurodiverse, etc.).

  • Stakeholder engagement skills – proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including researchers, lived experience consumers, partner organisations, and government/non-government representatives.

  • High-level communication skills – excellent written and verbal communication, including preparing reports and communication resources, with strong attention to detail.

  • Organisational and time management skills – demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and deliver quality outcomes within deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Digital and technical capabilities – proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital collaboration tools to support program delivery and reporting.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check.
