International Payroll Intern
Job Description
Job Summary: The International Payroll Intern will support the international payroll team in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees in Brazil and internationally. This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn about the complexities of multi-country payroll, including compliance, tax regulations, and employee data management. The ideal candidate is a proactive learner with strong analytical skills and an interest in a career in finance or human resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the collection and verification of payroll data from various sources, including new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
- Support the monthly payroll processing cycle for employees in international locations.
- Help maintain and update employee records in the payroll.
- Assist with the preparation of payroll reports and documentation for internal review.
- Learn and support the process of calculating payroll and reconciling international payroll taxes, social security contributions, and other deductions.
- Participate in special projects related to payroll system improvements or data audits.
- Assist in responding to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Research and stay informed on international payroll regulations and compliance requirements under the guidance of the team.
- Perform administrative duties as needed to support the payroll department.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Strong interest in payroll, finance, or human resources.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with payroll or HRIS software (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP) is a plus, but not required.
- Fluency in English is required.
