Description

Stotz Equipment, a premier John Deere Dealer with a legacy of over 75 years, is seeking a Payroll/Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. What you’ll do

A Payroll/AP Specialist handles vendor invoices and employee payroll to ensure payments are accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies.  Main tasks include checking invoices, keeping vendor and employee records, fixing any issues, helping with audits, and managing electronic payments and timekeeping.

This role requires strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting software.

 

Payroll:

  • Coordinate and process employee payroll, including calculations of wages, overtime, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with deferral, state, and local labor laws such as FLSA
  • Manage employee payroll-related data, such as timecards, and update employee information.
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees, addressing questions and resolving payroll discrepancies.

Accounts Payable:

  • Process and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval.
  • Enter invoices into the account system and maintain vendor files.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and ensure timely, accurate payments to vendors.
  • Manage vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process electronic payments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications


What’s required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to learn a third-party payroll system.  Experience with Paycom is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve payment or payroll issues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive financial and employee information.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing regulations and priorities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision for reading words and numbers on screens and paper.
  • Sufficient hearing ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
  • Light to moderate lifting (up to 25 pounds) and the ability to reach, stoop, kneel, and bend as needed.
