- Experience in utilizing Microsoft Excel, Outlook & Word on a daily basis

JOB SUMMARY
- The Patient Account Analyst - Level 1 is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and financial tasks that support the efficient management of patient accounts and revenue cycle processes. This role includes oversight of collection agency accounts, insurance eligibility verifications, audit preparations, payer communications, and account adjustments. The Analyst collaborates daily with Patient Account Representatives and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of patient information and billing data. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and effective communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This position requires walking, standing, and sitting with the ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 20 pound frequently. This position also requires frequently looking at a computer and using a telephone for extended periods of time. This position also requires the ability to bend, squat, balance, reach above shoulder height and twist frequently. The ability to touch, see, and hear are required continuously with gross grasp and fine manipulation. This position frequently changes position moves from one area of hospital to another occasionally stands for extended period of time. Frequently works in crowded, noisy environment.

Adjust work hours and schedule to changing priorities in the department. Works both independently as well as a team. This position requires occasional overtime on an as needed basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage Collection Agency & Early Out placement Accounts
- Adjust financial classification for accounts upon placement and return.
- Monitor accounts that have exceeded the designated placement time and take appropriate action.
- Monitor accounts placed with early out agency, collaborating with PFS team members.
Patient Communication & Documents
- Send letters to patients for all new inpatient admissions.
- Scan and organize patient documents received in the Patient Financial Services (PFS) department.
- Download documents from payers related to HFSC transactions and scan to patient records.
Maintain Admission Records & Provide Registration Support
- Maintain and update logs related to inpatient admission notifications.
- Run admission insurance eligibility checks using the SAM system.
Audit & Compliance Support
- Prepare monthly audit samples for Laboratory and Radiology audits as required.
- Assist in ensuring documentation and records meet internal and regulatory standards.
- Assist with management of online records of physicians affiliated with Medicaid.
Account Maintenance
- Enter account adjustments as directed by the department Director.
- Log and document write-offs based on data provided by Patient Account Representatives (PARs).
- Review and update charge modifiers on a weekly basis to maintain account accuracy.
Collaborate and support Team Members
- Distribute daily operational and financial reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Patient Account Representatives and other internal staff on a daily basis to support billing, collections, and other revenue cycle functions.
