The Manager of Indirect Procurement leads the strategy, sourcing, contracting, and supplier management for all indirect categories that support our automotive aftermarket parts distribution network. This includes procurement of goods and services not for resale, such as fleet services, branch and warehouse supplies, facility maintenance, MRO, IT, corporate services, and logistics-related services.
This role partners closely with branch operations, distribution centers, corporate functions, and key suppliers to deliver cost savings, operational continuity, and best-in-class supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for all indirect spend categories to support the company’s multi-branch distribution operations.
· Manage the full sourcing process: market research, supplier identification, RFI/RFP/RFQ management, bid evaluation, negotiations, contracting, and implementation.
· Build strong relationships with stakeholders in branch operations, DCs, fleet management, facilities, IT, HR, marketing, and other internal functions to understand needs and deliver procurement solutions.
· Consolidate and leverage spend across branches and regions to maximize savings opportunities and supplier efficiencies.
· Establish and manage supplier relationships, including setting performance standards, KPIs, and conducting regular reviews.
· Identify and implement cost reduction, process improvement, and risk mitigation initiatives.
· Ensure contracts and supplier agreements comply with company policies and legal requirements.
· Analyze spend data, supplier performance, and market trends to inform sourcing strategies and decision-making.
· Support sustainability and supplier diversity objectives as part of indirect sourcing programs.
· Provide clear reporting on savings achieved, sourcing pipelines, and project updates to procurement leadership.
· Lead and mentor a small team of indirect procurement professionals.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field (MBA, CPSM, or CIPS certification preferred).
· 5–8 years of progressive experience in indirect procurement, with at least 2–3 years in a distribution, multi-site retail, or automotive aftermarket environment.
· Proven experience managing spend categories such as MRO, fleet, branch/warehouse supplies, facilities, logistics services, or IT.
· Strong negotiation skills and experience drafting and managing supplier contracts.
· Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse internal stakeholders across branches, regions, and corporate functions.
· Analytical and data-driven approach with proficiency in Excel, spend analysis, and ERP/procurement systems (SAP, Coupa, Oracle, Ariba, or similar).
· Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Willingness to travel to branch and distribution center locations as needed.
