Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance in the Litigation Technology Section, Information Technology Division at the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. Typical work assignments will include: -Coordinates litigation support services, such as maintaining litigation support equipment, developing procedures for applications, and coordinating with other agencies involved in litigation team activities. -Performs testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, maintenance of litigation support resources used for the transmission of information in data, voice and/or video format. -Provides customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance and training. -Ensures confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems, networks and data. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Qualifications

Basic Requirement: Education: A master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education at the doctoral level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. OR Experience: Information Technology (IT)-related experience, obtained through paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, demonstrating each of the following competences: Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work until provides, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and respond appropriately. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Note: This basic requirement does not apply to applicants who meet the requirements for substituting education for experience at the GS-09 or GS-11 as outlined below. AND Specialized Experience: At least ONE full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 9 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes performing the following types of duties: installing, configuring and maintaining computer equipment; installing new or modified hardware and software; resolving hardware/software interface problems; installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining customer hardware and software; providing customer training including orientation for new users; diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues in response to customer reported incidents. To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.) Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy. To be well-qualified, you must satisfy all qualification requirements for the vacant position and receive a score of 85 or better on established ranking criteria. You must provide proof of eligibility to receive selection priority. Such proof may include a copy of your written notification of ICTAP eligibility or a copy of your separation personnel action form. Education

All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Payment of relocation expenses will not be authorized.
