TITLE: RESOURCE CONSULTANT (BILINGUAL-SPANISH)


GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Resource Consultant (RC) is a member of the Information and Caregiver Resource Center (ICRC) team. Responsibilities include welcoming visitors, fielding phone calls, processing inquiries for information and referral, and disseminating guidance and information. The Resource Consultant serves as the entry point to LifePath’s services. 


QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service related field preferred with experience providing customer service in an office setting.  Candidates with an Associate’s degree will also be considered for this opportunity. Experience working with older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers is a plus.  


The position requires:

  • Ability to work independently, within a team, and across teams

  • Excellent customer and/or client service experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to research options

  • Sensitivity to working with diverse populations in-person, virtually and by telephone; Comfortability assisting individuals who may be in distress 

  • Comfort with individual and group outreach events and presentations  

  • Ability to work within databases, use Google and Microsoft Office Suite, virtual platforms, and other technology

  • Fluent oral and written Spanish language skills

  • Ability to travel throughout Franklin County and North Quabbin region

  • A personal cell phone 


This is primarily an office-based position with the possibility of occasional remote assignments.  


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Respond to incoming calls and welcome visitors. Ensure positive experiences for clients and other visitors and provide connections to appropriate staff and resources. 

  2. Maintain office security by logging visitors, issuing visitor badges, and following safety protocols. 

  3. Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of available resources for older adults, caregivers, and people living with disabilities.

  4. Perform professional interviews, either in person or over the phone, to determine needs of individuals seeking services and resources to make appropriate referrals.  Complete referrals and intake assessments. 

  5. Provide follow-up communication to meet individual consumer need to ensure outcomes of previous contact and offer additional assistance in locating other services as necessary.

  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation according to program and agency requirements.  

  7. Conduct community presentations and outreach activities through public speaking engagements or related activities.

  8. Participate in regular agency meetings and team meetings and attend in-service trainings.

  9. Other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISION:

The Resource Consultant is supervised by the Information and Caregiver Resource Center Supervisor. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Physical: 

Visual, speaking, auditory and mobile capacity necessary:

Capacity to see computer screen, read written material and drive a car.

Capacity to hear and speak on the telephone.

Capacity to communicate verbally with consumers, caregivers, supervisors and managers.

Capacity for fine manipulation in the frequent use of office equipment such as computers, copy machines, telephones, etc.

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Occasional reaching and grabbing objects with both hands, twisting of hand and wrist, and pushing and pulling of objects.

Occasional bending, squatting, and twisting to perform work functions.

Occasional capacity to lift up to 25 pounds.

Mental: 

Ability to understand and/or interpret complicated program instructions and laws.

Capacity to learn complicated computer software

Capacity to deal rationally and calmly with varying personalities

Capacity to work  effectively in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.

Environmental: 

Work is split between indoor office work and traveling outdoors to meetings, trainings and outreach events. 

Must be able to tolerate odors and pollutants including but not limited to smoke, air fresheners, pet dander, personal odors, etc..

Must be able to tolerate by-products of office machine operation.

Must be able to tolerate heat and cold of seasonal changes and indoor temperatures.
