Job Title:  Cage & Sports Book Supervisor

Department:  FINANCE

Reports To:  Cage Shift Manager / Cage Manager

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Closing Date:       September 4, 2025 at 4:00pm

 

SUMMARY: Responsible for the efficient operation of the Main Cage and Satellite Cage and Sports Book during the assigned shift.  Assists Cage Manager, Shift Managers and Supervisors in the overall operation of Casino Cage. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with the public and fellow associates and ensures Cage associates adhere to courteous and respectful guest and associate relations by following the 3 Feathers Guest Service Standards 
  • Performs Monthly Assessments as required by the 3 Feathers Guest Service Coordinator.
  • Deals with guests issues concerning promotional newsletter offers and Marketing initiatives. 
  • Assists in maintaining Guest Net inquiries, issues from guests. 
  • Ensures Guest Service 7 Standards are being implemented.
  • All other duties as necessary to improve guest service and meet operational needs. 
  • Must be willing and capable of working shift work, including holidays and weekends.
  • Participate in training as required.
  • Assists Cage Manager, Shift Manager in day-to-day Cage and/or Sports Book responsibilities and activities, assumes the responsibilities when the Shift Manager/Manager is not present.
  • Preparation and distribution of sports odds sheets for our guests. Also maintaining and updating the Sports Odds electronic boards in the sportsbook.
  • Responsible for communication between sports odds third party vendor chat line for approval of certain bets and recommendations, updates, and other means of communication.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training associates; directing work; addressing guest complaints; resolving problems; and ensuring the safe condition of the Cage & Sports Book work environment.
  • Maintain Verification of Cashier Drawers.
  • Maintain liaison with Surveillance in monitoring Cage & Sports Book activities.
  • Monitoring the incidence of Audit Exception Notices; inform and reduce AEN incidence and participate in the preparation of timely audit exception reports.
  • Maintains and assists in the protecting the integrity and accountability of the assets of the Cage & Sports Book (e.g. currency, coin, checks, chips, and related documents).
  • · Assists in the Preparation of Daily Bank Deposits, both American and Canadian Currency 
  • Assists Cage Manager, Shift Managers in training and orientation of new associates and directing work and responsibilities of cage personnel.
  • Responsible for preparation, quality assurance and accuracy of Shift Summary and Shift Reconciliation. 
  • Ensures that all Title 31 and Compliance (Multiple Transaction Log, Suspicious Activity Report, and Currency Transaction Report) rules and regulation are followed. As well as making sure a Cage Cashier/Sports Book Ticket Writer is not scheduled to perform conflicting duties on any particular shift (e.g. Chip Bank and Cage Bank Helps to enforce policies in accordance with local, state, tribal, and federal gaming regulations.
  • Assistant in daily cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and trash removal of all areas of the cage department, including but not limited to, frontline, balancing area, meeting area, bathroom, Cage Banks and offices.
  • Preparation of Gaming Tax Forms (W-2G, 1042-S, 1099 MISC, W-9, W-8).
  • Maintains cash levels within TRCs and ATMs as well as frontline maintenance and cleaning.
  • Works with and maintains staffing level requirements including scheduling for cage personnel.
  • Oversee Cage Cash Payout voucher transactions and recording as per established guidelines.
  • Direct supervision of all activities and staff within the Cage in accordance, and in compliance with established company policies, budgets, procedures and internal controls.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in using appropriate and applicable portions of IGT Advantage, MICROS and Microsoft Office 2010 communications systems. 
  • Provides specific on-going job and guest service training to the front line staff ensuring proper data entry into IGT Advantage and MICROS systems. Enters and creates groups, generates reports using the player tracking system. Ensures that member accounts are kept up to date.
  • Assists with development and implementation of work plans.    
  • Other duties as assigned by the Cage Shift Manager /Assistant Manager / Manager.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in the supervision of up to 15 Cage Cashiers and Main bankers per shift.  Assists in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.   Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training associates; directing work; addressing guest complaints; resolving problems; and audit exception reports.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully completing the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University preferred but not required, must have a minimum two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

COMPUTER & TECHNICAL SKILLS:   Skilled in Microsoft Office, IGT Advantage, Micros applications, Resort Advantage software and technically inclined on computer based mechanical equipment; able to comprehend basic mechanical training.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or associates of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.   Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.   Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.   This position requires the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects; stand for long periods of time; bend and kneel; reach and handle.  Must be able to push a rolling fill trolley with an approximate weight of 1000lbs. and maneuver around gaming floor.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.  The position exists in a casino work environment where there is constant exposure of the associate to inside environmental conditions as well as work in a confined area.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III License which requires a criminal background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. Employment will not begin until process is complete.
