We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive team member to enhance our market position through comprehensive competitive analysis and strategic insights. This role involves evaluating market share data, manufacturer information, and market trends to identify opportunities for product improvement and market differentiation. You will collaborate closely with Product Manager and Business Development Managers (BDMs) to implement strategic changes based on industry recommendations. Additionally, you will support sales teams, maintain accurate sales data, and assist with customer engagement activities including plant tours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create marketing briefs for upcoming product launches by acting as a liaison with marketing, sales and product development teams to create perspective on next product and features to develop.
- Conduct competitive analysis using third-party market share data (SSI) and manufacturer insights to compare pricing, features, and market positioning.
- Research competitive manufacturers and market trends to identify opportunities for product enhancement and model year updates.
- Gain insights from sales teams to understand our unique selling points in comparison to competitors.
- Prioritize model year changes
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, quality, design, and engineering to determine model year changes needed.
- Lead market research efforts to spot trends in market
- Use quantitative and qualitative methods to spot trends inside and outside the marine industry
- Competitive analysis
- Lead marketing efforts to develop pricing for new models
- Ensure logical and consistent pricing
- Create differentiation from competitors
- Lead development of product training and collateral for customers and dealer network
- Assist in the creation of developing content to support training efforts including Tiara University, in-person training, etc.
- Support product launch efforts with timely and accurate product information
- Ensure consistent and correct data in brochures, buyers guides, training collateral
- Update dealer websites with current product lines and inventory information.
- Provide quarterly updates to dealers market share analysis, wholesale and retail status, CSI status, and goal achievements.
- Assist BDMs in implementing market strategies and support execution of plans for targeted dealers.
- Learn and utilize sales tools such as Quoting & Ordering systems, Dealer Toolkit, Birst Business Intelligence and CRM software (e.g., Syteline).
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to streamline and improve sales processes.
- Provide support during boat shows and corporate events.
- Arrange and conduct plant tours for customers and prospects, including those with boats in production.
- Participate in dealer sea trials and training as needed.
- Occasional travel required for corporate events, and dealer visits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data reporting
- Project Management, time management and collaboration
- Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (preferably BIRST) for creating dashboards, charts and graphs.
