Job Summary
The primary duty will be to teach 6 Psychology courses per academic year. In addition, the new faculty member would be expected to supervise an undergraduate internship program. This position requires a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research training, as well as a commitment to engaging in scholarship commensurate with the school’s mission, and service/outreach to the University.
Authority and Accountability
This position reports to the Chair of the Psychology Department and has no direct reports or budget authorization responsibility
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Doctorate in Clinical, or Counseling Psychology, ABD will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have teaching experience and the ability to teach a range of courses, including core courses (General Psychology, Psychological Statistics, Research Methods) as needed, as well as courses in their area of expertise, and be able to utilize effective teaching strategies which enhance the success of a diverse student body. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research or clinical work includes a focus on neuropsychology, though all areas of clinical psychology will be considered. We are especially interested in applicants who can contribute to our brain sciences curriculum, including courses in cognitive neuroscience, neuropsychology, or related areas. This role provides an exciting opportunity to bridge clinical training with foundational brain-behavior science. In addition, the ideal candidate may have interest in helping to develop and grow a future master’s program in clinical or counseling psychology. While the program is not yet established, we are exploring this direction as part of our department’s long-term strategic goals, and we welcome applicants who would contribute to that conversation.
