Candidates without coursework in coastal engineering must complete a graduate certificate in coastal engineering (with tuition paid by SU) within two years of hiring or as quickly as allowed by the granting institution, whichever is longer. Candidates must have effective written and oral communication skills and demonstrate potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and research. A commitment to serving a diverse student body and promoting an equitable and inclusive learning environment in the classroom is also required. The following documents will be used to evaluate a candidate’s qualifications: a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and the candidate’s plans for undergraduate research. For questions about the position, please contact the Chair of the Search Committee, Dr. Matthew Bailey at [email protected].
