Job Summary

The North America UW Services team of Everest Insurance, is looking for a UW Services Manager to join our Dallas office. This leader will oversee a local team, but also contribute to the matrix oversight of UAs within the NA UW Services team, through driving local oversight and engagement.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Leads a team of local Underwriting Assistants that provide support for the NA Insurance across Property, Casualty and Financial Lines of business.

  • Act as local leader for the Dallas UW Services team, by driving team building, engagement and inclusion for all Underwriting Assistant roles within the office.

  • Leverages data to drive day-to-day production of all tasks assigned to the team, including but not limited to Ratings, Policy Issuance and Mid-term Endorsements. Reprioritizes and/or reassigns work as needed to ensure established SLAs are consistently achieved.

  • Utilizes continuous improvement methodology to root cause problem solve when the situation warrants and drive process improvement opportunities.

  • Act as a key contributor to the automation journey by helping to define when tasks should be escalated to team member for review, balancing efficiency with the need for intervention to optimize, elevate and scale AI models.

  • Develops and fosters relationships amongst internal stakeholders; including collaborating to gather requirements, resolve issues, and ensure seamless integration and support. 

  • Oversee responses to Quality Audits within the group and proactively monitor team to be able to execute against Audit criteria.

  • Accountable for Change Management and follow through on key initiatives and prioritizes; this includes contributing where required to technology advances and/or new system functionality or enhancements, impacting the workflow execution.

  • Accountable for ensuring staff meet core competencies and skills needed to deliver quality service.

  • Ensure training materials are developed and implemented and that staff are trained to support the delivery of products and services.

  • Develop, implement, and refine standardized workflow procedures, including identifying best practices to drive operational excellence.

  • Responsible for all aspects of team supervisions, including hiring, leading, coaching, developing team to achieve performance goals and service metrics with guidance from management.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience required.

  • Minimum 3+ years of commercial insurance required, .

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a prior leadership role.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead agile high performing and engaged teams

  • Proven track record of delivery of key performance indicators and driving accountability within the team.

  • Exceptional skills with Microsoft Excel, including the use of Pivot tables, formulas, data cleansing & analysis.

  • Experience working in matrixed and virtual team environments is a plus.

  • Experience with managing though change and process improvement and leveraging technology to drive change

  • Strong data-driven analysis, planning and problem-solving mindset.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial insurance policy life-cycle; terminology, processing and procedures.

  • Experience working with non-admitted and admitted business, including awareness of regulatory and compliance impact to policy life cycle execution.

  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Ability to root cause problem solve, and drive accountability for executional delivery.

  • Excellent coaching and communication skills: verbal, written and interpersonal.

  • Strong customer service focus; meeting and exceeding expectations.

  • Agility: navigate ambiguity, while muti-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a result-oriented, service environment.

  • Intellectual curiosity to delve into and solution various business problems.

  • Passion for collaboration, encouraging diversity of thought.

  • High sense of ownership, urgency, execution and accountability.

The base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $132,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
