We are seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to join our team at a multi-family affordable housing community in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is responsible for supporting the Property Manager in day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth office administration, assisting prospective residents through the leasing and certification process, and providing excellent service to our current residents.

Responsibilities and Duties:



  • Assist in attracting, qualifying, and educating new residents
  • Manage leasing, re-certifications, and required documentation
  • Greet prospective tenants, assess their needs, and provide property tours
  • Collect rents, deposits, and issue late notices as needed
  • Address and resolve resident concerns promptly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate records, data entry, and file management
  • Ensure timely processing of work orders and maintenance requests
  • Provide customer service to prospective and current residents
  • Support corporate office with research and reporting needs
  • Enforce community policies, rules, and regulations
  • Assist with supervising and training property staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times


Qualifications and Skills:



  • Previous experience in property management with 100+ family units
  • Strong leasing and marketing skills
  • Familiarity with HUD, Section 42, and Section 8 compliance (2+ years preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Yardi, OneSite, or RealPage experience a plus
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with residents and team members
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently


This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
