Duties
Perform audiometric testing, data entry and administrative functions for the Hearing Conservation program.,Maintain and keep operational the clinics microprocessor audiometer.,Coordinate daily number of patients required for testing and ensure medical records are available during testing.,Conduct follow-up audiometric monitoring and refer patients to audiologists or to other medical clinics as needed.,Provide health education classes for the Hearing Conservation Program.,Perform a variety of administrative duties to include maintaining schedules, updating materials, and meeting reporting requirements.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Requirement for: GS-0640-05 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing patients for audiology or similar types of testing/procedures, operating medical instruments or equipment, and entering information in an automated medical information system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: A full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position, such as audiology. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Requirement for: GS-0640-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing audiological examination tests and evaluations, operating and maintaining audiometric instruments and equipment, and entering information in an automated medical information system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as audiology. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
