Are you enthusiastic about the energy transformation and client-facing roles? Aurora is seeking a Business Development Associate to join our Commercial team, focusing on driving sales for our energy market subscription and software services in Commercial. 

In this dynamic role, you will play a key part in client interactions, driving business development, and creating sales opportunities for our regional products. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the energy sector. You will work within a collaborative environment with opportunities for progression and innovation, contributing to our growth as a leader in energy market analysis and consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and process new business leads.
  • React quickly to new opportunities and market changes.
  • Sell new services to existing clients.
  • Qualify, develop, and maintain sales opportunities through company and product knowledge, researching consumer needs, and identifying how our solutions can meet them.
  • Schedule onboarding workshops and ensure a smooth handover to the Account Management team.
  • Complete detailed handover forms, including onboarding details, use cases, people involved, and opportunities for future growth.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and account management team to initiate and drive Business Development campaigns, generate leads, and grow existing relationships with industry leaders from the public and private energy sectors.
  • Represent Aurora with a comprehensive understanding of our offerings.
  • Pitch our offerings and make proposals to existing and prospective customers.
  • Negotiate and contract multi-service offerings.
  • Log and track campaigns, account plans, and opportunities on Salesforce CRM

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required attributes:
  • No prior experience required.
  • Strong commercial mindset, with creativity and intuition to identify opportunities that drive impact and commercial success.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and navigate complex negotiations effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with a high level of persistence and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude, with a willingness to contribute wherever needed, including improving internal systems and processes.
  • Motivated by achieving commercial targets both individually and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven record of strong performance in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
  • Passion and curiosity about the energy transition and its impact on the industry.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese.
Desirable attributes:
  • Sales, business development and client relationship experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM system.
  • Previous professional or educational exposure to energy economics, power markets or the power networks is an advantage but not essential.
  • Spanish language skills are not required, but would be beneficial.
