About the Department
This is a Full-Time Non Civil Service Position with Metro Action Commission with medical, dental, pension, and other insurance benefits. This position is responsible for the implementation of the agency’s marketing and external messaging through coordination with local, state, and national media partners and marketing platforms that positively impact the agency’s external image and brand recognition. Ensures the agency’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is demonstrated in all print, digital, broadcast, and other modes of communications. Supports and works in alignment with the Brand and Internal Communications Manager to ensure the continuity of messaging across initiatives. Uphold the Mission, Vision, Values, and Philosophy of the Metropolitan Action Commission.
Position Duties
- Support the initiatives of the Communications' unit.
- Coordinate all marketing related duties, initiatives, and activities.
- Ensure compliance with all media practices and policies as well as ensure integrity of communications, messaging, and image.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and relevancy of information, events, and initiatives that promote partners or collaborate with the agency programs, services, and activities.
- Elevate the agency’s external communications and engagement through innovative practices, approaches, initiatives, partnerships, and opportunities.
- Support program specific initiatives, programs, outreach events, agency events, and activities by partnering with program leaders and designated team members.
- Monitor, track, and report on key marketing metrics such as social media engagement, google analytics, and website traffic.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (In design, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) Canva, and other marketing tools.
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns across digital, print, email, and all social media platforms.
- Design, write, and edit content for marketing materials including newsletters, press releases, agency intranet site, presentations, brochures, flyers, website, videos, and social media.
- Take photos and assist in the creation of videos and engaging in social media content.
- Maintain and grow our presence on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field from and accredited college or university. And a Valid Driver License.

Associate’s Degree in Marketing or related field with two (2) years of marketing experience. And a Valid Driver License.

Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
Other Qualifications
- Demonstration of graphic design, marketing planning, and implementation.
- Event planning and coordination experience preferred.
- Knowledge of marketing practices, standards, and protocol.
- Knowledge of marketing, public relations, and effective communications principles.
- Experienced in grasping complex business issues to contribute effective solutions to drive business success.
- Experienced in coordinating multiple activities.
- Experienced in researching and resolving problems.
- Experienced in establishing and implementing rules, policies, and/or procedures.
- Participating in local, state, regional, and national travel preferred.
