Colorado State Veterans Homes are State-owned and operated skilled-nursing facilities dedicated to serving those who have served us.  We strive to provide excellent customer service and to respect and honor resident choices regarding bathing, rising, bedtimes, and other personal decisions.  Our philosophy is to provide residents a home where life and love abound.  

Position Duties

Duties:

  • Perform daily cleaning, sanitizing, and servicing of assigned work area as per assigned work schedule and procedures in use at the Facility by utilizing approved disinfectants, cleaners, associated chemicals and equipment. Procedures consist of the established “7-step” Program, Routine. Performs floor work, including scrubbing, spot cleaning, and shampooing.
  • Perform all duties associated with laundry, including sorting, loading, unloading, folding, hanging, ironing, repairing, mending, labeling and distributing residents’ laundry and facility linens.  Use approved disinfectants, cleaners, detergents, bleaching agents, soft/sour agents, spotters and associated chemicals.  Assist with minor maintenance assignments, such as changing lamp light bulbs, changing filters, snow removal, etc.  Other duties as assigned.    

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: None

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous custodial experience in a long-term care or hospital facility preferred.

  • Previous experience in commercial laundry processing

  • Paying attention to detail, strong time management skills and ability to handle
    multiple tasks.

  • Working in a team environment to complete daily workloads and provide support
    when necessary outside of assigned areas.

  • Excellent customer service skills to include communication with and responding to
    all levels of employees.

      
    Conditions of Employment:  

  • Applicant must be willing and able to work any shift, holidays and weekends

  • Applicant must be willing and able to meet the physical demands of the position as follows:  Exert up to 100 lbs. Of force occasionally, and up to 50 lbs. Of force frequently, and up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
