Start your career in public service. The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for the position of a Billing Specialist 2. This position reports to the Billing Specialist Supervisor and will be based in Fulton County.

Position Duties
Pay Grade: I
Under general supervision, plans, organizes and manages the operation of the billing functions such as preparation and distribution of invoices, third party payers, preparing claims and posting cash receipts. Analyzes complex billing data and prepares reports for revenue and expenses and other statistical data.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and reconciles accounts data and transactions
- Assesses the efficiency of billing and accounts receivable services and develops and implements process improvements
- Compiles financial information from all components and develops integrated revenue/expense analyses and reports
- Coordinates all components to ensure consistent reporting and adherence to federal and state financial reporting regulations and guidelines
- Directs the operation, implementation and maintenance of financial systems or equipment (ie fiscal information systems, bookkeeping or recording systems, cash registers or terminals, etc)
- Monitors billing and accounts receivable accounting system
- Oversees the collection, compilation, and analysis of billing data and the preparation of related reports
- Provides billing services status reports to departmental leadership
- Researches issues and provides technical assistance
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related experience in accounting, billing, or budget services;
One (1) year of job-related experience at the lower-level Billing Spec 1 (FIP070) or equivalent position.
