 Trenam Law is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Estate Planning and Trust Administration practice. This role is critical to supporting our attorneys and clients in all phases of estate and trust administration, with a strong focus on responsiveness, efficiency, and delivery of excellent client service. Requirements

  •  Estate Administration
    • Prepare and file probate pleadings and related court documents.
    • Assist in identifying, valuing, and collecting estate assets.
    • Communicate with executors, beneficiaries, and financial institutions.
    • Draft inventories, accountings, and reports required by the court and beneficiaries.
    • Maintain calendars to ensure compliance with statutory deadlines and probate requirements.
  • Trust Administration
    • Support attorneys in the administration of revocable, irrevocable, and charitable trusts.
    • Assist with trust funding, including preparation of transfer documents, assignments, and beneficiary designations.
    • Track trust income, distributions, and expenses.
    • Serve as a resource for trustees and beneficiaries on procedural and administrative matters.
  • Tax and Compliance
    • Assist with preparation of estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns.
    • Coordinate with accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals to ensure compliance with federal and state tax obligations.
    • Maintain organized files and tracking systems for deadlines.
  • Attorney and Client Support
    • Draft correspondence, memoranda, and legal documents.
    • Provide case status updates and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items.
    • Serve as a responsive and professional point of contact for clients, trustees, and beneficiaries.
    • Uphold Trenam’s values of teamwork, client service, and accountability in all interactions 

  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of estate and/or trust administration experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Strong knowledge of probate procedures, trust administration, and estate tax filings.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with estate/trust management or accounting software preferred.
