Job Summary:
The Warehouse Clerk plays a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the warehouse. This individual will gain expertise in tracking and delivering materials efficiently to ensure that daily operations run smoothly. They will manage the movement and availability of equipment and materials to meet the needs of company personnel and contractors in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in moving, positioning, and organizing warehouse equipment under supervision of Warehouse Lead
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts (training provided if needed)
- Support equipment staging and preparation for turnaround activities
- Ensure proper handling procedures to prevent equipment damage
- Conduct physical inventory counts of legacy equipment and spare parts
- Update inventory tracking systems with accurate counts and equipment conditions
- Identify and tag equipment for repair, replacement, or disposal
- Maintain accurate documentation of equipment locations and status
- Support cycle counting and reconciliation activities
- Implement reorganization plans across all two warehouse locations
- Create and maintain organized storage systems for optimal space utilization
- Ensure proper labeling and identification of storage areas and equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Assist with layout changes to improve workflow efficiency
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly learn company-specific products and terminology.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen ability to assess inventory and make informed decisions.
- A high level of safety awareness and compliance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of warehouse or industrial experience preferred
- Forklift certification required.
- Experience with Acumatica and Maximo is highly preferred.
- Proficient in PC use and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in the petroleum industry or refinery operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with general warehouse operations and safety procedures is preferred
- Basic familiarity with Pipe, valves, and fittings
- Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, measuring tools)
- General understanding of industrial equipment and mechanical components
- Ability to read and interpret basic equipment labels, part numbers, and specifications
- Computer literacy for inventory management systems
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to use hand tools effectively.
- Capability to operate a forklift for extended periods, along with pallet jacks and other handling equipment.
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods and work on a computer.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements throughout the day.
- Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching required.
- Lifting, positioning, pushing, and transferring equipment and materials as necessary.
