Basic Purpose
Leads the development and analysis of demand side management, net metered, company owned renewable projects, and customer owned renewable resource incentive programs. Conducts technical evaluations of energy efficiency and customer renewable resource measures. Prepares filings before the PUCN for Demand Side Management, net metered company owned renewable resources and customer owned renewable incentive programs and defends filings as needed.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develops clear, concise, and accurate reports, customer owned renewable resource incentive plans, program data sheets, energy efficiency plans and other regulatory/legislative filings with general guidance by management.
Acts as the technical lead in matters of renewable project interconnection for all distributed generations/non-net metered projects. Assembles and prepares interconnection agreements with technical supporting information for all distributed generation/non-net metered projects.
Utilizes engineering computations and software to perform analysis and evaluation of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures.
Conducts accurate and timely technical and economic analysis of energy efficiency and small-scale renewable energy measures and projects.
Creates the customer owned renewable resource portion of the annual Renewable Portfolio Standard compliance filing as well as providing periodic and regular forecasts of program productivity to stakeholders.
Develops company owned distributed generation renewable resource projects and coordinates the development of customer owned renewable recourse incentive programs under the guidance of management.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in engineering and 5 years industry experience as a practicing engineer. If no PE license, must have 7 years as a practicing engineer.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Renewable distributed generation design, installation, operation, and maintenance techniques.
Demonstrated skills such as:
- Analytical, interpersonal and communication with regulators, stakeholders, and internal and external customers on technical renewable energy concepts.
- Analyzing datasets to understand trends in the renewable and distrusted generation industries.
Equipment and Applications
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. Site inspections of renewable resource installations requires traversing uneven ground, crossing small obstacles such as roof mounted conduits or pipes, and/or accessing rooftops utilizing various types of ladders.
