Position Summary:

As the Associate Designer, the associate designer is responsible for the full design process and administration of specific product categories and collections. Working under the guidance of the Designer, Senior Designer, and the Design Director, you will be instrumental in developing innovative concepts, conducting trend research, and ensuring all products align with our brand's vision and business strategy. A key focus for this role will be on our outerwear pieces for one of our golf brand’s, which requires designing new and unique outerwear pieces. This individual will work closely with senior leadership to develop innovative, original designs, bodies, and fabrics, ensuring our collections remain at the forefront of the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Conceptualization: Drive the creative direction of product lines, with a specific focus on the outerwear. Present and champion new concepts and collections in internal meetings.
  • Trend & Market Research: Conduct in-depth research to ensure product lines are consistent with the latest market trends and align with our business strategy.
  • Technical Design: Execute detailed Illustrator sketches and 3D CAD designs. You will be responsible for providing fit comments and ensuring the final product meets our high-quality standards.
  • Fabric & Print Development: Work with the Design Director to establish a clear creative direction for fabric and print development. Outerwear expertise is highly desired and requires excellent knowledge of fabric finishes, performance technologies (including waterproofing) for knits and wovens.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with our Merchandising, Sourcing, and Product Development teams to ensure seamless execution. This team works as a cohesive unit and moves at a very fast pace, so the ability to work collaboratively is essential.
  • Documentation: Generate and maintain all technical packs for new and existing styles within our PLM system.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience as an Assistant or Associate Designer. We are looking for someone with a background in a true design role. 
  • Experience in menswear activewear is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Experience in outerwear design. This includes proven fabric development experience and a deep knowledge of performance fabrics.
